Sorry, I'll just have to check with my wife...

It was Laura's birthday on Friday night, so of course we had to celebrate Vigo style, getting lairy and eating too much chocolate cake. Our landlord decided to come out with us all... so now he thinks that all Brits and Americans are beyond crazy / alcoholics. Ordering strawberry daiquiris says it all...

We've all been pretty terrible tourists since we arrived, so myself and Lily were determined not to spend another Saturday hungover in bed. It was a beautiful day so we decided to head to the beach with Gonzalo (our fave Spaniard and tour guide for the day). We arrived at Vao beach, and all we could do was stare open-mouthed at the stunning views (of Gonzalo or the beach you ask...). It was hard to believe that we were still in Vigo. Sunbathing and a quick dip in the freezing cold sea definitely were the perfect cure for our horrendous hangovers.

Next stop on our tour: Monte dos Pozos, about 20 minutes from Vigo. Gonzalo promised us incredible views, and he definitely didn't disappoint. In his little Seat Ibiza we headed up into the mountains to one of Galicia's National Park areas. Our hangovers now worsening, it was a relief to arrive. We were pretty speechless by what we saw.... panoramic views of the whole of Vigo in all directions, and on such a beautiful day we could see right out to the Cies Islands and down the coast. Such a good day with the housemates, and 100% worth dragging ourselves out of bed for.

Me and my wifey, Lily, at Monte dos Pozos

Me and Lily have known each other for nearly a month now, and we really have become like a married couple. If anyone asks me if I want to do something, my reply seems to have become "oh I'll just check with Lily first". I'm so happy that I have found another weirdo, my new wife, to share this incredible year with!
